Boutique Visit: Akira Chicago

So I like to hit up Boutiques and started my obsession with them since I started working in the "Real World". It was my belief that the word, "boutique" in itself = expensive, BUT, was I wrong. People are under the impression that they're way too costly. At the end of this blog, I will convince you that they're not as expensive as you perceive--you just have to be smart in locating the "good ones". Hence, Akira Chicago--well, at least they used to be a Single Store, and have grown to a very huge chain here in Chicago, which I love!

I last visited their Water Tower location (for the eh-hem 10th time so far this year?..Idk..I stopped counting, mind you, all the locations are an hour away from where i am). If you like being "Unique", this is definitely your place to acquire some great pieces created by upcoming designers to famous labels. Price Range may vary, but on average, you will find fabulous pieces for an affordable price.

You can check them out at:

The vibe, their assortment, store layout, deco's, range from racks to tables I would rate a 10. Their Staff was very helpful with not only assisting you with sizes, but they had great suggestions on what they think would suit your body-type, etc. In the end, I came out ahead with 2 dresses, Casual Top, A Cardigan for work, and 3 cocktail rings under $200. Not bad for some downtown Chicago shopping.
